Originally saved in a scrapbook by 15-year-old Beatles fan Sue Houghton, the framed toast scrap dates back to February 8, 1963, the eve of the band’s final show at the Cavern Club in Liverpool. “Well, I never authenticated it! That’s totally bulls**t,” Harrison told Vox Magazine in 1992. “I really dislike that. I ate all my toast, I never left any. The madness is the people selling it, and the people actually buying it.” Despite Harrison’s claim, the toast has become a sought-after item among Beatles enthusiasts, previously selling for $94,800 at a 1991 auction at Christie’s in London.
