New Book On The Way Focused On Orange County Punk Scene, Including Social Distortion, The Offspring, And No Doubt

A new music history book titled, Tearing Down the Orange Curtain: How Punk Rock Brought Orange County to the World, is set to hit the shelves on May 20. The 400-page book features interviews with key figures from the Orange County punk scene, including bands like Social Distortion, The Offspring, No Doubt, Sublime, and others. The book explores the personal and professional lives of these musicians, shedding light on their struggles and the historical and musical roots of the punk and ska explosion in OC from 1978-2000. An official description of the book says it “presents a compelling narrative of how a suburban wasteland turned into a hub for rock-n roll culture, just over 30 miles away from the bright lights of L.A,” The book’s authors Nate Jackson and Daniel Kohn will embark on a five-date California/Nevada book tour at the end of May, which will feature Q&A sessions with various members of The Offspring, No Doubt, The Vandals, Sublime, and Social Distortion.
